2. Some changes in the roles and responsibilities associated with some of these positions were considered. For instance, it was suggested that the new secretary take on the role of communications. It was also decided that concerns over what to do with funds and the organization of fundraising efforts become part of the treasurers role. Sociology and undergrad liaison positions, which were once separate, have now been merged.

There was much discussion about fostering a sense of community within the department next year and getting the new and old students more involved, as this year very few attended AGSA meetings. It was suggested that the beginning of the year is the best time to start. Changes to the Learning Community structure were considered, perhaps changing the format to a more informal discussion panel, changing the schedule etc. Organizing this will be part of the department events coordinators position next fall. Any suggestions regarding community building and outreach or any of these other issues would be much appreciated!
